On Restoring Faith In Humanity - A Sacred Season Letter
HELLO BEAUTIFUL HUMAN,
How are you feeling looking back into this ending cycle?
What are the parts you're most proud of?
And what are the parts that deserve some humble: "I tried, but I'm only human" - love?
I pray you feel at peace and loving with whatever you find.
I've been thinking much about this common phrase: "I'm only human," as I'm hearing or reading it a lot these days, and I've been telling myself that as well many times this year, trying to console me when I felt like failing or at least "not succeeding enough" in life - whatever that might mean.
In best case, this phrase comes with humility, the acceptance of one's own limitations. But often it comes with this sense of deficiency. We're ONLY human. It sometimes fuels an inner place that's questioning their purpose, use and importance for this world.
When last have you heard someone say: "I'm human" and they actually meant that they're powerful, divine, really awesome, potent and absolutely resourceful?
I don't remember the last time.
I feel that's an opportunity missed. And I feel like changing that narrative in my mind.
What if instead of underlining our specie's limits every now and then (which for sure exist!) by saying "We're only human", and instead of using that phrase to justify our shortcomings - what if we would shift our focus more towards "We're SO human! - so let's do this!"?
What if we started embracing our species as one - and maybe the only one - full of potential to bring about radical change? And what if that could mean something beautiful and sacred?
This ending year is truly calling me out for this.
Because I'm Human, I was able to restore trust in Community this year!
Because I'm Human, I was able to choose to leave given paths and re-write my own map!
Because I'm Human, I was able to feel deeply, love deeply and trust deeply as I learn to receive fully!
Beautiful human, as this year comes to an end, I for sure wish for you the humility and acceptance towards all things you and our species didn't succeed in this year.
But above that: I wish for you to remember that you're part of a sacred species.
You're human, so you're precious, amazingly intelligent, intentionally serving and beautifully creative.
You're human, so your nature allows you to re-invent yourself again and again!
You're human, so your essence makes you constantly giving your best and to remember that your best is enough!
You're human, so you're creating through billions of years of inheritance while being visionary at the same time! You're protecting past and future at once!
You're human, so you don't just have a voice but you can give an ear: to nature, to animals, to plants, to spirits.
You're human, so you can make promises to yourself. Remembering that every promise to yourself is a promise to your species!
You're human, so you definetely can surprise yourself and us, again and again!
You're human, so you can choose to believe! You can choose to believe in magic, miracles and love. You can choose to believe in possible. And you can choose to believe in faith!
You're human, you can hurt and choose to heal! You can grow from pain.
You're Human, isn't that beautiful? I believe it is.
So next time you get into the mood of "I'm only human" - why don't you turn the energy around? And let the "I'm SO human, so I can..."- energy surprise and refill you! What could that change for you, looking into 2026?
